I guess it really has been nearly a year since my last post… ouch! Sorry about that.
It isn’t like I haven’t made stuff to post, it is just usually incomplete. I started hourly comic day but stopped at lunchtime. I also made a javascript hangman game I need to see if I can deploy.
Anyway Chalk the Walk is coming up again. Above is what I want to do. We will see if it comes out well when I don’t trace and have to scale it up.
Hi, I am back with another update. It is that time of year again and I tried Chalk the Walk at the local library again.
At last year’s Chalk the Walk, someone asked me about the 3D entries. The general idea is you draw something that looks superimposed on reality and 3D/real. If you search for 3D chalk art a lot of it are pits with monsters coming out or underground scenery. I decided to take a stab at it this year. So here is my picture of an alligator coming out of a sewer.
Not really all that 3D looking but I still like it. The manhole cover is really the only convincing part.
Anyway, I hope you like it. Do you have a suggestion for next year?

Last blog entry I asked if I should make a Jack O Lantern for Pumkinpalooza at the viridian center Well, I have always wanted to try carving a 3D one so I got some clay sculpting tools and ended up with this. The colors are from left over sidewalk pastels from the Chalk the Walk event.
I think it is the most terrifying Jack O Lantern I have ever made. I did hollow it out, so you can put a light inside.
Back in early September, I participated in Chalk the Walk at the Viridian Library with some relatives. It was my first time trying a sidewalk chalk competition. The chalks are actually pastels which made things easier. Still, my poor index finger was raw and scabbed for weeks afterward. Anyway, I thought I should share a picture.
It was about a five foot square of Cement. Unfortunately we didn’t win anything. My sister wants to do the pumpkin carving contest. Should I?
